About NANAIMO FASD SOCIETY
Dedicated to building community capacity and supporting families affected by FASD since 2009
Our Story
The NANAIMO FASD SOCIETY was established to address a critical need in our community: comprehensive support and education for individuals and families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Since our founding, we have been committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and providing vital resources to those who need them most.
Our organization emerged from the recognition that FASD affects not just individuals, but entire families and communities. We understood that through education, collaboration, and compassionate support, we could make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by this preventable condition.

Community Awareness & Education
We deliver comprehensive educational programs to healthcare providers, educators, social service professionals, and the general public. Our workshops and presentations cover FASD prevention, recognition, diagnosis, and effective support strategies.
Monthly Inter-Agency Meetings
We facilitate monthly community FASD inter-agency meetings that bring together professionals from health, education, social services, and justice sectors. These collaborative sessions enable resource sharing, case coordination, and the development of integrated support approaches.
